Oh and another thing

Yeah, I'm just going to sit here and bitch at the computer until it's time to go to work.

This Elizabeth Mitchell kids' cd that everyone is so excited about? I got it for Z. awhile back, and never got into her, but I remembered thinking she might be good in smaller doses. Listening to it again this morning and I loved the first maybe 4 or 5 songs, then I tuned out, then I realized how insipid it was and couldn't get to the end. Is this a failing of mine? Have I ever listened to the end of this album? Is there something great I'm missing?

Anyway, Ben Rudnick's Emily Songs are playing now and I'm so relieved to have some rhythm going on.

(iTunes is my new toy and it's all Phantom's fault.)

How wild. I downloaded a couple of Elizabeth Mitchell songs off Amazon for lullaby material, I am so out of the loop that I didn't even know who she was, but I too thought: I can only handle this in small doses.

Which does make the whole digital song thing very convenient.

Every time I've listened to the free 30 second clips of her, I think she sounds insipid.

Kid asked for Dylan in the car the other day. That's my girl! (And Hey Eugene is still in heavy rotation.)

Jody, I'm enough of a Luddite that the first time I downloaded music off the internet was last week! But you make an excellent point.

Magpie, excellent! Mine has recently claimed "Losing My Religion" as one of HER songs...meaning no one else should sing along to it because she's still LEURWN-ing it.

Shonen Knife does it for dudelet. And you can dance to it, which is even more fun.

We all at my house actually really liked that Elizabeth Mitchell CD; it grew on me the more I listened to it for a few weeks, and then it moved to MG's room for lullabye duty and was infected with Bedtime Cooties. But I can see how they might be a little... sweetsy for some tastes.
